Real Dieting Success

Fact is that most people will start a diet with a mindset that they will fail. A majority of people has tried so many diets and have failed, and when they try the latest and newest diet they are convinced that this one will fail as well. And of course they will…

One of my favorite quotes is from Henry Ford. He said, “If you think you can or think you can’t you will always be right.” The unfortunate reality is that if you think you are going to fail at this diet, you will have even before you could take the first bite. I suggest you think about this carefully. You know what a masochist is right? Someone that enjoys misery, especially self inflicted. Now only a masochist will keep on trying diets and knowingly fail at them without stopping to think about why they failed. You do not want to be called a masochist willingly or knowingly, now do you?

Now back to Henry Ford. He also said, “Failure is only the opportunity to begin again more intelligently”. This is quite a profound statement, would you not agree? Really, think about it for a second. Examine your failures and find out why you have failed so you do not need to repeat your failures again. Seriously, if you do not find the reason for failure, why would you even try again to diet?

There is only one person in control of what you eat, and that is you. And only you know when you eat because your body needs food and when you eat for emotional reasons. Only you can get out of your chair and get on your feet. And you have to realize that only you are responsible for the condition you find yourself in at this moment. I do of course acknowledge that fact that there are medical exceptions, but still, in this case if you still try and fail diet after diet then should realize that it is not the diets that are likely not working.

You see, we are all accountable for our failures and our successes in life and it is also true when it comes to our health and diets. The feeling you get when someone compliments you on you fit appearance is quite extraordinary. Of course when you are considerably overweight it might take some time for people to notice the change in you, but to note it they will. The sad thing is that too many people actually give up before they get to that milestone, and that is of course a crying shame. You must be patient and give your diets time to work; you must make your diet part of your life and in turn make it a positive habit which is part of your daily life.

The unfortunate truth is that too few people will hold themselves responsible for their health, let alone that of their family and children. One way to overcome this accountability issue is to actually get a partner to help you and encourage you. When you feel down your partner can motivate you.

Or you get someone to help you change your bad habits into good habits so that not only you but everyone around you can benefit from it. Someone that can take you hand and guide you slowly until you are amazed at you newly found health and diet successes.

It took me many years, but Jerry Stanger changed my life forever. Therefore I can write about accountability without hesitation. Let him help you as he helped me.
